Lecture by Dr.. Craig Shipp, Shell E&P, USA

 The Association of Petroleum Geologists, Dehradun, India, is organizing a lecture by Dr. Craig Shipp, Shell E&P, USA, under the distinguished lecture series program of the AAPG, USA, on, “Significance & Recognition of Mass-Transport Deposits in Deepwater Environments” and “Where Offshore Drilling Meets Shallow Geology: Impact of Near-surface Depositional Systems on Deepwater Operations “, at 17.00 hrs of 10th April 2007, in the Banquet Hall, Hotel Ashoka, New Delhi. The participation in the lecture is by invitation and will be followed by a dinner hosted by Mr. D. K. Pande, Patron, APG.

Dr Craig completed his Ph. D. from University of Maine in Geological Oceanography. His areas of interest include depositional systems, stratigraphy, and geotechnical character of deposits formed by deepwater processes. The effect of mass-wasted features and marine gas hydrates on deepwater drilling and development operations. He is founder member of Deepwater Operators’ Geohazards Forum and since 2000 he is leader, Geohazards Assessment Team, Shell International E& P Inc., Houston, Texas.
