APG Second and third Field Expedition and workshop in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan starting very shortly



Spiti field workshop was the first in the line of annual events and was successfully organized from 22nd to 31st August, 2009. Subsequently, APG is organizing two more field workshops one in the Frontal imbricate zone in NW Himalayas and other in the Jaislmer, Rajasthan Basin. These workshops are intended to familiarize the participants for better understanding of the geological set up of Tethyan Himalayas, Outer Himalayas and Rajasthan Basin in particular and to integrate the Knowledge acquired for evolving geological model for hydrocarbon exploration. Besides this the participants will have the opportunity to be exposed to the structural set up of these basins.

 The second and third Field Expedition and workshop in Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan is commencing from 9th December, 2009 to 15th December and 10th January, 2010 to 16th Janauary respectively. The courses will be conducted by eminent geologists from Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Ltd., Wadia Institute of Himalayan Geology, Dehradun and  Institute of Petroleum Exploration, Gandhinagar .
