APG AT PETROTECH 2007 - EXHIBITION

15th – 19th January 2007

The APG participated in the PETROTECH-2007 Conference and Exhibition held at Vigyan Bhavan/Pragati Maidan from Jan. 15th-19th, 2007. A stall depicting aims, objectives, activities and future plans of the APG was placed at the Pragati Maidan. The stall attracted a large number of visitors who showed keen interest and appreciated  various activities of APG. Prominent amongst the dignitaries visiting the stall were H.E. Ms Angelina Jany Tany, State Minister, Ministry of Energy and Mining, Govt. of Sudan, Mr Luis F. Vierma, Vice President, PDVSA, Venezuela, Dr Tim Marchant, President, British Petroleum, Kuwait, Mr Jonathan Evans, Exploration Director, BP, UK, Mr Yuriy Y Shkurupiy, Trade Representative, Russian Federation, Dr Pierce Riemer, Director General, World Petroleum Council, UK, Mr Kelly J. Crobie, Managing Partner, PRAXIS, Dubai and Dr Andrew Beath of CSIRO, Australia. The exhibits displayed at the stall enticed intense interactions with the dignitaries and other visitors.  A set of APG publications was presented to H.E. Ms Angelina Jany Tany.

Interactions with various representatives from the industry on various spheres of activities of the APG have helped in giving direction for future planning. Large number of student delegates visiting the stall were provided interactive support for approaching prospective employers.  Numerous industry representatives also requested APG for help to identify suitable candidates for employment from amongst its student chapters.

APG plans to hold field training courses, on lines with its ongoing programme at Spiti, attracted numerous queries, from amongst the professionals from the industry. It was a proud moment for APG when visitors complimented it on the standards maintained for the Spiti field course.
